About Claire McDaniel, MD
Dr. Claire McDaniel is a fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement surgeon who thinks first about how patients want to live, not just what their X‑rays show. She is committed to faster recovery, reduced pain, and exceptional outcomes in joint replacement.
With training in orthopaedic surgery, public health, and business, she focuses on cura personalis, or care of the whole person. That same mindset guides her clinical practice: she slows down, listens for the story behind each patient’s pain, and works with them to design a plan that fits their life.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. McDaniel has received funding from the National Institutes of Health to study how the structure of the orthopaedic workforce affects who enters the field and how patients receive care. Her current research focuses on improving outcomes and the overall experience for patients undergoing hip and knee replacement. She is also active in national organizations, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society (RJOS), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
